Grub Screw

Grub Screw

The grub screw (grub screw / worm screw) is a screw without a head. Instead, the free end has a hole with hexagon socket for attaching a screwdriver.

The grub screw is flat at the front end depending on the use or with a tip (cone)

The grub screw is used as a set screw (preferably with a counter-piercing tip) or as a rule provided with fine thread set screw for adjustment. A pin is then attached when lateral forces z. B. are to be kept away from the thread in a groove when guiding the pin. The thread crests would otherwise be flattened and the pin would not be rotatable.
